Abstract

The invention relates to a method (100) for managing interference between cells and power consumptions of radio access nodes operating the cells, radio communication within the cells making use of radio resource blocks that are frequency and time multiplexed over the air, the method (100) comprising, for a given cell operated by a given radio access node, - determining (110) a reduced number of time sub-frames within a given time frame that is adapted to sustain a given data load of the given cell by selecting radio resource blocks of the given cell frequency-wise first and time-wise next, - positioning (111) the reduced number of time sub-frames within the time frame to form a pattern of active sub-frames to be primarily used for data communication within the given cell during the time frame while creating an unload period within the time frame, the positioning giving precedence to time sub-frames that are not primarily used in neighboring cells.
