Abstract

This invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions of ibuprofen for oral administration. More particularly, the invention relates to pharmaceutical powder compositions containing ibuprofen, which effervesce when added to water, forming an aqueous suspension of ibuprofen suitable for oral administration. Such aqueous suspensions are convenient in use and are advantageous for those patients, often children and elderly patients, who have difficulty in swallowing tablets or capsules.
