Abstract
A yarn winding machine 1 includes a yarn joining vehicle 3 adapted to perform yarn joining operation using suction airflow, a yarn waste accumulation box 45 adapted to collect yarn waste in the suction airflow, a lever 71 adapted to switch a mode of the yarn waste accumulation box 45 between a collection mode and a cleaning mode, a proximity sensor 73 adapted to detect a first movement of the lever 71 when the mode of the yarn waste accumulation box 45 is switched from the collection mode to the cleaning mode, and a machine control device 20 adapted to control the yarn joining vehicle 3 to stop the yarn joining operation when the first movement is detected by the proximity sensor 73 in a case where the yarn joining vehicle 3 is performing the yarn joining operation.
