Abstract
A scavenge filter system (100; 200; 300) according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a first scavenge pump stage (106; 206; 306) positioned in a first flow path (130; 230) downstream of a first bearing compartment (38-2; 38-3; 38-4) of a spool (30; 32) and a second scavenge pump stage (108; 208; 308) positioned in a second flow path (132; 232) downstream of a second bearing compartment (38-1). The second bearing compartment (38-1) houses a geared architecture (48) mechanically coupled to the spool (30; 32). A first scavenge filter (122; 222; 322) fluidly couples the first scavenge pump stage (106; 206; 306) to at least one oil reservoir (112; 212; 312). A second scavenge filter (124; 224; 324) fluidly couples the second scavenge pump stage (108; 208; 308) to the at least one oil reservoir (112; 212; 312). The first (122; 222; 322) and second (124; 224; 324) scavenge filters are separate and distinct. A method of filtering debris is also disclosed.
