Abstract

A holding unit (3) holds label paper (P) conveyed from a label printer that ejects ink onto the label paper (P). A peeling unit (6) is disposed to the label paper conveyance path downstream from the holding unit (3), and peels labels (Pb) from the liner (Pa) of the label paper (P). The peeling unit (6) can move bi-directionally between a start peeling position and an end peeling position. A peeling member (28) folds back only the liner (Pa) portion of the label paper (P). A peeling conveyance roller (46) disposed downstream from the peeling member (28) on the label paper (P) conveyance path conveys the label paper (P). The peeling member (28) moves from the start peeling position to the end peeling position by being pushed by the label paper (P) conveyed by the peeling conveyance roller (46) while the label paper (P) is still held by the holding unit (3).
