Abstract

A winding unit (10) includes a cradle (23) adapted to hold a package (30), a contact roller (29) adapted to make contact with a surface of the package (30), an air cylinder (60) adapted to move the package (30) between a contacting position in which the package (30) makes contact with the contact roller (29) and a non-contacting position in which the package (30) is separated from the contact roller (29), and a package driving motor (41) adapted to rotatably drive the package (30). The package driving motor (41) carries out a forward rotation of rotating the package (30) in a winding direction for a set period ± in a lift-up state in which the package (30) having a yarn end is separated from the contact roller (29) by the air cylinder (60).
