Abstract

A gas turbine engine assembly for an aircraft includes a fan section (250) delivering air into a main compressor section (254). The main compressor section (254) includes a first compressor section (256) and a second compressor section (258) operating at a higher pressure than the first compressor section (256). An environmental control system (30) includes a low pressure tap (32), at a location on the first compressor section (256), that communicates airflow to a first passage (36) leading to a downstream outlet. A compressor (42) is driven by an electric motor (52). A combined outlet (37) intermixes airflow from the first passage (36) and from the compressor (42) driven by the electric motor (52) and passes the airflow downstream to be delivered to an aircraft use.
