Abstract

One aspect of the present invention provides a programmable indicator (4,4D), which can present information on a failure to the user with little delay when failing to periodically acquire data from a PLC (1, 2, 3). The programmable indicator (4, 4D) includes a display screen (540), a communicator (441, 480, 491) configured to communicate with the PLC, and a controller (411) configured to control the display screen (540) and the communicator (441, 480, 491). The controller (411) acquires data from the PLC through the communicator (441, 480, 491) in a predetermined period. When failing to acquire the data, the controller (411) displays a name identifying the data and successful timing on the display screen (540), the successful timing being associated with successful acquisition of the latest data before the failure.
