Abstract

Herein a cutting insert (2) for a power skiving tool is disclosed. The cutting insert (2) comprises an insert body (4) having a bottom surface (6) extending in a first plane (10), and a body axis (12) extending substantially in parallel with the first plane (10). The insert body (4) comprises a cutting end portion (14) and opposite thereto an abutment surface (18). The abutment surface (18) extends substantially perpendicularly to the body axis (12) and to the first plane (10). The cutting end portion (14) is provided with a first and a second cutting edge (20, 22), the first cutting edge (20) and the second cutting edge (22) being directed in a same cutting direction. Herein further a power skiving tool comprising such cutting inserts is disclosed.
