Abstract

An airfoil includes an airfoil section (160) having an external wall and an internal wall (190). The internal wall defines a first reference plane extending in a spanwise direction and through a thickness of the internal wall. A first cavity (182) and a second cavity (184) are separated by the internal wall (190). A plurality of crossover passages (180) within the internal wall (190) connects the first cavity (182) to the second cavity (184). Each of the plurality of crossover passages (186) defines a passage axis. The plurality of crossover passages (186) are distributed in the spanwise direction and arranged such that the passage axis of each of the plurality of crossover passages (186) intersects a surface of the second cavity (184). The plurality of crossover passages (186) include a first set of crossover passages (186a) and a second set of crossover passages (186b) positioned on opposite sides of the first reference plane. The passage axis of each of the first set of crossover passages (186a) is arranged at a first vertical angle relative to a spanwise axis, and the passage axis of each of the second set of crossover passages (186b) is arranged at a second, different vertical angle relative to the spanwise axis. A corresponding casting core is also provided.
