An information processing system includes a pattern unit configured to have a predetermined pattern formed by a surface treatment, or to have a function to display the pattern; an imaging unit configured to capture an image of an object; and a calculation unit configured to calculate distance information by using the image including the pattern and the object, obtained by the imaging unit.
