Abstract
The invention relates to a mounting mat 4 for an exhaust gas treatment device 10, the mounting mat 4 comprises two opposing main surfaces 5, 6 and at least one edge surface 7 extending between the main surfaces; at least one portion of the at least one edge surface comprises a protection coating comprising inorganic particles 15 and the inorganic particles have an average diameter of at least 1µm.
