Abstract

Embodiments include electronic devices having a camera configured to capture image data, a display configured to display the captured image data and content corresponding to an application of the electronic device, and a motion sensor configured to detect motion of the electronic device. The electronic device also includes circuitry configured to activate the camera when motion is detected by the motion sensor, and control the display to display at least a portion of the captured image data at a size proportional to an amount of motion as detected by an output of the motion sensor. The faster the user moves the more screen space is used by the captured image of the physical environment in direction of the camera, i.e. the user may see both, the working desktop and the physical environment in direction of the camera, at the same time on the display. This raises attention of the moving user for approaching objects and helps the user avoiding to run into a person or other moving object.
