Abstract

A method and a server for multimedia content delivering optimisation in adaptive streaming delivery systems, where at least a request of a manifest file is received from a client device (C1, C2) in a current client session and, firstly, a manifest file is retreived comprising a set of all the available values of content quality metrics (CQ) for adaptive streaming delivery, and then the manifest file is modified by a server module (Sm) which selects a subset of values of quality metrics based on information related to the client device (C1, C2) and the latency of the network (N). The modified manifest file (M1, M2), comprising only the subset of quality metrics available for this current client session, is delivered to the corresponding client device (C1, C2).
