Abstract

Moisture entering a narrow-bezel type display device (LCD or OLED) between the top of the housing and the display panel can cause damage to the circuitry inside. To prevent this, the housing comprises a rectangular frame (200) whose section is in the form of a T (on its side) or an L. This surrounds the panel (401) as well as supporting both the panel and a back cover (300) underneath it by means of an inwardly projecting rib (203) (the bottom bar of the L or the main bar of the T). A drain hole to the outside is formed by an incision (209) in the rib at a corner of the frame between two adjacent arms and a corresponding hole (300a) in the back cover. The moisture-proof insulating member (409) and absorption member (219) provide further protection and enable moisture transport through the drain.
