Abstract

An apparatus for sealing the drum (28) of a clothes dryer (10) comprising an attachment (107) with a recess (106) sized to receive the lip (103) of a dryer drum (28) to mount the seal (100) about the lip (103) and a seal (100) element abutting the corresponding front or rear bulkhead (30, 32) wherein the length of the seal (100) is such that when in place there remains an intervening gap (101) in which a spacer (102) capable of changing shape is located allowing the seal (100) to expand and contract with thermal variations.
