Abstract

A hydrogen generating apparatus (100) includes a reformer (2) that reforms fuel and generates reformed gas containing hydrogen, a combustor (1) that heats the reformer (2), an exhaust gas path (3) which covers the surroundings of an outer wall (2B) of the reformer (2) and through which combustion exhaust gas from the combustor (1) flows, and a reformed gas path (13) through which the reformed gas sent from the reformer (2) toward the combustor (1) flows. The reformer (2) is arranged on a flame forming side of the combustor,(1) and a gas flow within the reformer (2) in a portion thereof where the gas flow contacts the outer wall (2B) of the reformer (2) is opposed to a flow of the combustion exhaust gas in the exhaust gas path (3) in a portion thereof where the combustion exhaust gas contacts the outer wall (2B) of the reformer (2).
