Abstract

According to one embodiment, an electronic device includes a communication unit (84) configured to perform a wireless communication with an external device (42) using an internal antenna (88) inside of a housing of the communication module or an external antenna (22A) outside of the housing, a memory (102) configured to store a received signal intensity of the external antenna (22A) obtained at a first timing, a detector (100) configured to detect an abnormality of the external antenna by comparing a received signal intensity of the external antenna obtained at a second timing after the first timing and the received signal intensity stored in the memory, and a notification module (100) configured to notify a detection result of the detector to the external device by the communication unit.
