Abstract

A communication apparatus includes a first search unit (303) that searches, in one channel, for another communication apparatus by a first method complying with Wi-Fi Alliance Neighbor Awareness Networking and a second search unit (304) that searches, over a plurality of channels, for the other communication apparatus by a second method different from the first method. The communication apparatus accepts a search instruction of the other communication apparatus and controls, in response to accepting the one instruction, the first search unit and the second search unit so as to execute a search by the first method and a search by the second method.
