Abstract
A method of controlling an inverter (14) includes receiving output voltage target waveforms (V<A_REF>, V<B_REF>, V<C_REF>) for phases (22, 24, 26) of an inverter (14), generating uncompensated midpoint duty cycle waveforms (D<AMP_UNC>, D<BMP_UNC>, D<CMP_UNC>) for the inverter phases, selecting an uncompensated midpoint duty cycle waveform for one of the inverter phases based on the magnitudes of the uncompensated midpoint duty cycle waveforms, and applying a compensation signal (A_COMP, B_COMP, C_COMP) to the selected uncompensated midpoint duty cycle waveform. An inverter controller (100) and inverter (14) employ the method for generating switch command signals for solid-state switch devices (42, 44, 46, 48) of the inverter (14).
