Abstract

A sample tube rack (1; 1') for receiving at least one sample tube comprises an upper part (10) comprising an upper surface (11), wherein at least one upper opening (12) for receiving the sample tube is provided in the upper surface (11); an intermediate part (20) comprising an intermediate surface (21), wherein at least one intermediate opening (22) for receiving the sample tube is provided in the intermediate surface (21); and a lower part (30) comprising a supporting surface (31), wherein at least one supporting position (32) for supporting the sample tube is provided in the supporting surface (31). Therein, the intermediate part (20) is connected to both the upper part (10) and the lower part (30) such that the at least one upper opening (12) is substantially aligned above the at least one intermediate opening (22) and above the at least one supporting position (32) for receiving the at least one sample tube. At least one gripping orifice (35) is provided in a lateral side of the lower part (30).
