Abstract
A shape memory alloy (SMA) sealing ring (10) is deformed to provide a shape between a radially inner sealing portion (22, 22') and radially outer sealing portion (24, 24') thereof which has at least one peak (26, 26') and at least one trough (28, 28'). When the shape memory behaviour of the SMA is activated, this shape provides a sealing connection between a first and second member (110, 120).
