Abstract

A hydraulic machine includes: a cylinder disposed along a radial direction of the hydraulic machine; a piston including a piston head having an outer peripheral surface curved in a cross section taken along an axial direction of the cylinder, the piston being configured to reciprocate inside the cylinder; a cam configured to engage with a root end portion of the piston and to rotate in connection with a reciprocating motion of the piston; and a piston ring disposed on the outer peripheral surface of the piston head so as to be in slide contact with an inner peripheral surface of the cylinder. A seal line is formed between the piston head and the cylinder by the piston ring, and an angle formed by the seal line with a plane orthogonal to the axial direction of the cylinder is variable in accordance with tilting of the piston.
