Abstract
The invention relates to a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) having a belt drive unit for an elongated axis element (1) of the CMM, the belt drive unit comprising a belt (5), the ends of which are clamped on the elongated axis element (1), a pulley unit (2), comprising a drive pulley (3) and two idler pulleys (4,4'), wherein the belt entangles the drive pulley (3) and the idle pulleys (4,4') in an omega-shaped manner, and wherein the pulley unit (2) is configured to cause a relative linear movement between the axis element (1) and the pulley unit (2), wherein a damping layer (7,7',7",7"') is disposed adjacent to the belt (5), in particular wherein the damping layer (7) is arranged between the belt (5) and the axis element (1) or wherein the pulley unit (2) is configured to cause a relative linear movement between the axis element (1) and the pulley unit (2), wherein the belt (5) encompasses at least one end of the elongated axis element (1).
