Abstract

Various embodiments include a steam turbine drum nozzle (20, 120), along with a related assembly (60, 122) and steam turbine (2). Particular embodiments include a nozzle (20, 120) having: an airfoil (22); a radially inner sidewall (24) coupled with a first end (26) of the airfoil (22); and a radially outer sidewall (28) coupled with a second end (30) of the airfoil (22), the second end (30) opposing the first end (26), wherein the radially outer sidewall (28) includes: a first section (32) radially outward of the airfoil (22); a thinned section (34) coupled with the first section (32); and a second section (36) coupled with the thinned section (34) radially outward of the airfoil (22), the second section (36) having a radially outer face (38) and a circumferentially facing side (40) abutting the radially outer face (38), wherein the second section (36) includes a circumferentially extending slot (42), and wherein the second section (36) includes a relief slot (44) extending into a body (32) of the second section (36) from the circumferentially facing side (40).
