Abstract
A bearing (200) includes a bearing sleeve (220) with a first portion (210) and a second portion (214) adjacent to the first portion. A bump foil (222A) extends along an inner face of the first portion of the bearing sleeve and a metal mesh (212) extends along an inner face of the second portion of the bearing sleeve. A top foil (228) extends along an inner face of the bump foil of the first portion and the metal mesh of the second portion.
