Abstract

An input apparatus (1) comprises a touch sensitive input device (2) configured so as to detect a touch of a user input member (5) to provide at least one input functionality, the touch sensitive input device (2) comprising a touch surface (24) and having a pressing resistance (RN, RT) upon a touch of the user input member (5) in a pressing direction transverse to the touch surface (24). The touch sensitive input device (2) further comprises at least one layer (23, 22) arranged beneath the touch surface (24), wherein the at least one layer (23, 22) comprises a plurality of longitudinal elements (F1-Fn) which are displaceable within the at least one layer (23, 22) with respect to one another. The input apparatus further comprises an actuator (6) which is configured to actuate a displacement of at least a selected one of the longitudinal elements (F1-Fn) during a touch of the user input member (5), wherein the touch sensitive input device (2) is configured to provide a pressing resistance (RN, RT) for the user input member (5) which varies upon the displacement of the at least one of the longitudinal elements (F1-Fn) at a location of a touch of the user input member (5) generating a tactile feedback for the user input member (5).
