Abstract

A display device with built-in touch sensors comprises: a display panel; a display drive circuit; a common voltage regulator; and a touch sensing circuit. In the display panel, a pixel array with built-in touch sensors is driven in a time-sharing manner, separately in a display period and a touch sensing period, and the touch sensors and pixels share a common electrode. The display drive circuit writes image data to the display panel during the display period. The common voltage regulator outputs common voltage data indicating the voltage level of a common voltage applied to the common electrode during the touch sensing period. The touch sensing circuit decodes the common voltage data during the touch sensing period to vary the voltage level of the common voltage, and applies the varied common voltage to the common electrode to drive the touch sensors. The common voltage regulator calculates the average value of image data for each line of the pixel array, and outputs first common voltage data for lowering the voltage level of the common voltage, when the average value is at or above a preset threshold and corresponds to positive data.
