Abstract

A fishing reel includes a handle (20), a spool (130) on which a fishing line is wound, a partially open reel body (40) housing an internal mechanism converting a rotational force applied to the handle into a movement to wind the fishing line onto the spool, a lid member (50) closing the opening of the reel body, and a seal member (70) disposed between an opening edge portion (44) of the reel body and a lid flat surface (55) of the lid member. The seal member includes a shape-retaining portion (80) that holds the shape and a sealing material (90) that has elasticity.
