Abstract
A system for retaining stators and reducing air leakage in a gas turbine engine (20) having an axis (A-A') includes a stator (102; 202; 312) having an inner platform (126), an outer platform (128; 316), a low pressure side (130), a high pressure side (132), and at least one foot (114, 116), and designed to turn air. The system also includes a case (108; 201; 306) positioned radially outward from the stator (102) and having at least one recess (110, 112) designed to interface with the at least one foot (114, 116) to resist movement of the stator (102; 202; 312) relative to the case (108; 201; 306). The system also includes a bladder (120; 220) positioned between the outer platform (128; 316) of the stator (102; 202; 312) and the case (108; 201; 306) and designed to receive pressurized fluid having a greater pressure than ambient pressures experienced at the low pressure side (130) of the stator (102; 202; 312) and to further resist movement of the stator (102; 202; 312) relative to the case (108; 201; 306) in response to receiving the pressurized fluid.
