Abstract

A torsional vibration damper (1) includes a planetary rotary unit (3) and an elastic body (8) that couples two rotary elements (4, 5, 7) of three rotary elements (4, 5, 7) so that the two rotary elements (4, 5, 7) can rotate relatively to each other. The torsional vibration damper (1) includes a shaft supporting member (15) by which a rotation center axis of at least any one rotary element (4, 5, 7) of the two rotary elements (4, 5, 7) and a rotation center axis of the rotary element (4, 5, 7) other than the planetary rotary unit (3) and the two rotary elements (4, 5, 7) are held on the same axis. The shaft supporting member (15) has a holding section (20) that is disposed in a position between fellow planetary rotary elements (6) and not making contact with the planetary rotary elements (6) and that fits with and thereby suppresses movement of the rotary element (4, 5, 7) other than the planetary rotary unit (3) and the two rotary elements (4, 5, 7) in the axial direction.
