Abstract

A broadcast receiver is provided with a receiving means configured to receive a broadcast signal, an extracting means configured to extract a code from the received broadcast signal, a storage means configured to accumulatively store the code extracted by the extracting means and a broadcast frequency of the broadcast signal as a piece of broadcast information, a list generating means configured to generate a station list based on the broadcast information stored in the storage means, and a displaying means configured to display the station list. the list generating means has a determining means configured to determine that the plurality of pieces of broadcast information correspond to the same broadcasting station if their broadcast frequencies are the same, and a registering means configured to register only one of the plurality of pieces of broadcast information, which are determined to correspond to the same broadcasting station, to the station list.
