Abstract

A lock system (20) for a component (10) of a thrust reverser actuation system ("TRAS"), comprising a lock member (22) translatable between a locked position, in which the lock member (22) prevents movement of the thrust reverser component (10), and an unlocked position, in which the lock member (22) allows movement of the thrust reverser component (10) to deploy the thrust reverser actuation system. The actuator (20) comprises a screw shaft (30) and a nut (40) translatable along the screw shaft (30) and operatively connected to the lock member (22). Rotational movement of one of the screw shaft (30) and the nut (40) causes the nut (40) to translate along the screw shaft (30) and, in turn, the lock member (22) to move between its locked position and its unlocked position. Furthermore, a corresponding method of preventing deployment of an aircraft thrust reverser is disclosed.
