Abstract

A light receiver (1) designed to determine a position and/or orientation relative to a reference light (51) wherein the light receiver (1) comprises an elongated rod-shaped light receptor (2) with two ends (e1, e2), a light coupler (8), a light guide (7), and light detection means (6, 6a-6c) at one or both ends (e1, e2) for detection of guided reference light (51g, 51a, 51b) and a signal processor (12) to process the at least one detection signal (I, Ia-Id, Sa, Sb, S1, S2) of the detection means (6, 6a-6c) and to determine the position by an evaluation of the detection signal (Ia-Id, Sa, Sb, S1, S2). The light coupler (8) comprises light absorbing and emitting material (9, 9a-9d) like fluorescent or phosphorescent material.
