Abstract

A hook assembly can include a bumper assembly (12) and a hook (14) attached to the bumper. The bumper assembly (12) includes a top plate (18), a bottom plate (20), and a bumper (16) extending between and connecting the top plate (18) and the bottom plate (20). A lighting element (22) can be disposed on the top plate (18), the bottom plate (20), and the bumper (16) to provide a visual indicator for the bumper assembly (12). The lighting element (22) can be an electroluminescent device, and can be disposed on an exterior surface of the bumper assembly or in a recess (36) extending into the bumper assembly. A power source (26) and other electrical components can be stored in a compartment in the top plate (18).
