Abstract

An electric generator has a rotor shaft (30) to be driven to rotate with a generator rotor (28). A generator stator (71) is positioned adjacent the generator rotor (28). A housing (42) surrounds the generator rotor (28) and the generator stator (71). The generator rotor shaft (30) extends outwardly of the housing (42). A seal (46) seals a location where the rotor shaft (30) extends outwardly of the housing (42). A vent valve (54) is configured to vent of the interior of the housing (42) when the rotor shaft (30) is not rotating. An electrical assembly is also disclosed.
