Abstract

The present invention includes a rotor-blade span-balancing system (300), including a span-balance pocket (315) in a surface (320) of a rotor blade (106); a cover (305) operably configured to cover the span-balance pocket (315), wherein the cover (305) is operably configured to be substantially flush with the surface of the rotor blade surface (320) when covering the span-balance pocket (315), and wherein the cover (305) includes a cover boss (330) for reacting centrifugal force of the cover (305) into the rotor blade (106); and one or more span-balance weights (310) attached to the cover (305) to span-balance the rotor blade (106).
