Abstract

The invention relates to an air conditioning system (1a, 1b) of a motor vehicle with a refrigeration circuit (2a, 2b) and with a coolant circuit (30, 30a, 30b). The refrigeration circuit (2a, 2b) comprises a compressor (3), a refrigerant-coolant heat exchanger (4) which can be operated as a condenser/gas cooler for the heat exchange between the refrigerant and the coolant of the coolant circuit (30, 30a, 30b), a first expansion device (5), and a first refrigerant-air heat exchanger (6) for conditioning the intake air for the passenger compartment. The coolant circuit (30, 30a, 30b) is formed with a conveying device (31), a first coolant-air heat exchanger (33) for heating the intake air for the passenger compartment and the refrigerant-coolant heat exchanger (4). The refrigeration circuit (2a, 2b) moreover comprises a second refrigerant-air heat exchanger (9) for conditioning the intake air for the passenger compartment with a second expansion device (8) located upstream in flow direction of the refrigerant. The coolant circuit (30, 30a, 30b) is formed with a second coolant-air heat exchanger (34) for heating the intake air for the passenger compartment. The invention moreover relates to a method for operating the air conditioning system.
