Abstract

A furniture leg assembly comprising a leg, a securing element for securing said leg assembly to an item of furniture with which it is used, and a support element disposed substantially adjacent to said leg, in which said leg is rotationally attached to a first part of said securing element and is rotatable about a point from a stored position to a supporting position in which said leg extends at an angle to a longitudinal axis of said securing element, in which an outer end of said support element is attached to said leg such that a biasing force biases an inner end of said support element towards said leg, in which said support element comprises a transverse portion extending in a transverse direction from said inner end, which transverse portion is disposed adjacent to said first part when said leg is in the stored position, and moves over a top surface of said first part into a distal locking part of said securing element when said leg rotates from said stored position to said support position, in which said distal locking part comprises a socket for releasably retaining said transverse portion, said socket being spaced from said point so said biasing force biases said transverse portion into said socket, and in which said distal locking part comprises a stop wall opposite to said socket, which delimits a distance said transverse portion can travel out from said socket.
