Abstract

There is provided a pole-piece (130) for a torque motor (100), the pole-piece (130) comprising a first section (132) formed separate from a second section (134), wherein the first section (132) and the second section (134) are configured to abut each other to form one or more lines of abutment (140) on an outer surface thereof, and each line of abutment (140) follows an S- or Z- shape when the first section (132) abuts the second section (134).
