Abstract
A rotor (30) of a rotating electric machine (10) includes a rotor core (32), and a plurality of permanent magnets (60, 62, 63, 64, 65, 66, 67) arranged in a two-layer structure (40) having a first layer (42) and a second layer (44), in the rotor core (32). Among the permanent magnets, first and second outermost permanent magnets (62, 63, 64, 65) located closest to each of opposite q-axes (72, 74) of each magnetic pole (38) are located relative to each other, such that, in the case of the q-axis (72), a radial position of an end portion (82) on the q-axis (72) side and a radially inner side in the first outermost permanent magnet (63) that belongs to the first layer (42) is spaced by a predetermined radial spacing from and is on a radially outer side of a radial position of an end portion (84) on the q-axis (72) side and a radially outer side in the second outermost permanent magnet (65) that belongs to the second layer (44).
