Abstract

A high temperature memory logging device for evaluating the hydrocarbon and water contents of a borehole, the device (1) having the form of a tube-like container (4) comprising a neutron source section (5), an electronics section (9) with memory modules and a power supply in form of a battery (10), wherein the container (4) is an insulating flask designed to withstand a temperature of up to 500°F (260°C) for up to 5 hrs, and comprises at least one heat sink (11, 12) flanking the power supply (10).
