Abstract

The present invention provides a mobile communication device (100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 200, 300) for wireless communication, the mobile communication device (100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 200, 300) comprising an antenna (105, 205, 305) configured to receive wireless signals (106, 107, 108), a receiver (109, 209, 309) that is coupled to the antenna (105, 205, 305) and that is configured to determine a signal strength of the received wireless signals (106, 107, 108) and provide a respective signal strength value (110, 210, 310), and a normalization unit (111, 211, 311) that is configured to normalize the signal strength value (110, 210, 310) and provide a respective normalized signal strength indication (112, 212, 312). Further, the present invention provides a method for operating a mobile communication device (100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 200, 300).
