Abstract
A method for forming a hole within a ceramic matrix composite component incudes forming a first core portion (200B) for a ceramic matrix composite component; embedding a hollow member (218) into the first core portion (200B) at a desired location; wrapping the first core portion (200B) with a first ceramic matrix composite material; inserting a rod through the hollow member (218) and into the first core portion (200B); removing the hollow member (218); assembling a second core portion (200A) to the first core portion (200B) such that the rod (214) extends into the second core portion (200A); and wrapping the first core portion (200B) and the second core portion (200A) with a second ceramic matrix composite material and a core (200) for a ceramic matrix composite component (84), comprising:a first core portion (200B);a second core portion (200A); anda rod (214) extending between the first core portion (200B) and the second core portion (200A)
