Abstract

The present invention relates to a thermocouple (10), particularly to a modified thermocouple configured for being ball-bonded or wedge-bonded to a target surface (15) by a wire-bonding apparatus. The invention further relates to a method for manufacturing such thermocouple (10) and to a method of bonding, particularly ball-bonding or wedge-bonding, such thermocouple (10) to a target surface (15). The invention further relates to the use of a modified wire-bonding apparatus for bonding the thermocouple (10) of the invention to a target surface (15) as well as to a battery module (70) comprising the thermocouple (10) according to the present invention.
