Abstract

The present invention refers to a battery module (100) comprising a plurality of secondary battery cells (10), each battery cell (10) comprising a first terminal (11) and a second terminal (12) spaced apart and electrically isolated from one another, a housing (30) comprising an upper housing part (32) and a lower housing part (31) assembled together to completely surround the plurality of battery cells (10), and a plurality of bus bars (150) integrated in the upper housing part (32), wherein each of the plurality of bus bars (10) is connected to one of the first and second terminals (11, 12) of at least two battery cells (10). The present invention further refers to a method of manufacturing the battery module (10), which is fast and easy and has a high tolerance for fluctuations in the cells height.
