Abstract

An apparatus is provided which is configured to receive a fronthaul traffic stream via a fronthaul network between a network element and a radio unit, to detect whether congestion occurs in the fronthaul network, and to signal congestion information concerning a congestion in case it is detected that congestion has occurred, to a media access control scheduler of the network element controlling the fronthaul traffic stream.
