Abstract

A torque motor (110) for a servovalve is provided, the torque motor (110) comprising an armature (115) and a first pole piece (112). The first pole piece has a first portion (112c, 112e) and a second portion (113) that is selectively moveable relative to the first portion (112c, 112e) such that a size of an air gap (116a, 116c) formed between the second portion (113) and the armature (115) is adjusted in response to the movement of the second portion (113) relative to the first portion (112c).
