Abstract

The present invention relates to a electrodialysis module (001) comprising a first chamber (110) and a second chamber (120) wherein each chamber comprises a pair of electrodes comprising a cathode (211, 221) and an anode (212, 222) separated by a membrane block (310, 320), an inlet (401), a first outlet (501), a second outlet (502) and three ultrasonic transducers (601, 602, 603); and wherein the inlet (401) is in fluid communication with each of the chambers (110, 120), and the first outlet and the second outlet are each in fluid communication with each of the chambers (110, 120); wherein the electrodialysis module comprises successively, in a direction from the inlet towards the first and second outlets, a first transducer (601), the first chamber (110), a second transducer (602), the second chamber (120) and the third transducer (603) disposed parallel to one another.The present invention further relates to a system comprising two or more electrodialysis modules according to the invention.
