Abstract

A fluid filtration assembly (FFA) includes a housing (58) having a thickness (T) defined between an internal surface (84) and an external surface (86), the housing (58) receiving a filter (72) and defining an outer annular flow passage (88) between an outer surface (76) of the filter (72) and the internal surface (84) of the housing (58); an inlet pipe (64) communicates with the FFA and injects a fluid into the housing (58) to impart a centrifugal force; an outlet pipe (66) communicates with the FFA and discharges the fluid from the housing (58); and a collection area (92) disposed towards an end of the outer annular flow passage (88) collects particulate matter from the fluid; wherein a width of the outer annular flow passage (88) increases towards the collection area (92).
